Richard got out of the carriage, and Hercules jumped out behind him, wriggling his tail and yapping happily. Whitechapel looked busy at this time of day with the market in full swing.
“Let’s go and visit her, shall we?” Richard asked Hercules, who looked up at him with the most charming dog-smile, his pink tongue hanging from his mouth. Richard chuckled. “I’ll take that as a yes.”
He walked through the dirt-packed street towards a building that looked quite different from the row of buildings on the street.
